The Bradens (at Peaceful Harbor)
The Bradens at Peaceful Harbor are the newest addition to the award-winning Braden series and the Love in Bloom family, joining the Snow Sisters, the Bradens, the Remingtons, & Seaside Summers, (Voted BEST BOOK SERIES by Supportive Business Moms, UK).
Fall in love with Nate Braden & Jewel Fisher in Healed by Love.
Nate Braden has loved his best friend’s younger sister Jewel for as long as he can remember, but between their age difference and his respect for Rick, he’s always kept his feelings at bay. Now he’s back in Peaceful Harbor, and Jewel is no longer sixteen years old—but there’s an even bigger obstacle standing in his way. Nate and Rick joined the military together eight years earlier. Nate came home a hero, but Rick didn’t make it out alive.
Nate Braden has harbored a long-time love for his best friend’s little sister, Jewel, for practically his entire life. Even when he was stationed in Afghanistan with Jewel’s brother, Rick, Nate clung to her photo the way other soldier’s did to pictures of their wives. Now, Nate’s finally home–without Rick. His feelings are still as alive as ever for Jewel, but how can he be with her when he made the call that resulted in Rick’s death?
This was my first introduction to The Bradens series and this is classic Melissa Foster. So well done. Healed By Love pulls you in from page one with characters that are relatable and engaging. The underlying theme throughout this story is Nate’s survivor’s guilt–something that so many servicemen and women bring back with them to civilian life. Foster’s interpretation of Nate’s own struggles were so real, I found myself in tears (unexpectedly) for most of the book. Jewel also struggles–her personal fears keeping her from taking risks in her own life and barring her siblings from doing so as well.
The romance that blossoms between Nate and Jewel is intense–emotionally as well as physically. Readers will enjoy the steamy romantic moments between the pair, as well as the banter between all of the Bradens.
Bottom-line: Great addition to your summer reads!
